Beach Umbrellas From Alcohol Companies Not Allowed In Pattaya
It is common to see stall holders at the top resorts in Pattaya but they are now allowed to used beach umbrellas over their rented beach chairs if it sponsored by an alcohol company. This is what happened with the sun shades provided by Thai Beverage Plc as the stall holders were mandated to take them down because it is against the laws regarding alcohol control.
This is according to instructions given by the chief of the 14th Military Circle, Major General Yutthachai Thienthong. He is the one in charge of making sure that order is kept all overthe Pattaya beach.
He explained that the logos printed on the beach umbrellas can be against the law thus the operators were asked to keep them where they are not seen by the public. In place, they can use the old ones until such time that it is clear if any legal issues has been breached or not.
The law does not allow representations of alcoholic beverages such as logo or name to be displayed in the public or any sign that could encourage the public consume alcohol.
According to Major General Yutthachai, the stall owners have the approval to continuing utilizing the new beach chairs made of plastic as well as the new beach mats.
The new items, breach umbrellas, mats and beach chairs, are all donations from Thai Beverage which was given to the Pattaya City administration. These were given at the start of November and it came after the instructions were announced by the National Council for Peace and Order to develop the current look of the beach around the resort city as it was often times filled with litters.
The same policy also states that area occupied by the chairs for rent should be reduced in order for the public to have more space in the beachfront. The donated chairs were given to around 150 stall owners along the beaches of Wong Amat and Pattaya. Guests who are staying at top resorts in Pattaya will be happy to see the new items around the beach.
