Businesses Encouraged To Join Bath Half Marathon
An announcement for invitation has been made by the organizers of the Bath Half Marathon as they encourage businesses to take part in their Corporate Challenge for the coming race next year.
The Corporate Challenge can be considered as a unique opportunity to have a business team building as well as fundraising. The competition will be between guests and business. It will be held during one of the most well-known races in the city centre roads of the United Kingdom.
The challenge aims to build teamwork between different departments, to develop healthy competition, to increase the awareness of keeping fit in the workplace as well as to give the participants the opportunity to raise funds which will be donated to charity.
The Bath Half Marathon has been considered as one of the largest traditional annual events happening in the city.
It was recently held for the 36th year since it first started and there are 15,000 runners who came to the event while the number of spectators is estimated to be about 30,000. The event this year was able to raise the highest recorded amount of £2.25 million which was given to charity.
According to the Race Director, Andrew Taylor, every year the tickets to the Bath Half are sold out and 500 spots are given for participants joining in behalf of businesses that will compete for trophies in both men and women category.
Taylor said that during the 2017 event, more than 40 teams joined the Corporate Challenge. They came from various organizations as well as business sectors such as construction, solicitors, engineering, retail, architects, telecoms and entertainment among many others.
All in all, the Corporate Challenge teams for this year was able to came up with £97,000 which will be given to different companies and will be utilized for good causes. Business teams are usually motivated to give the funds to Action Against Child Poverty Campaign or they can also nominate their own chosen charity. Through this event, they experienced business team building between branches or departments and they are able to help at the same time.
