CEO Of Worcester Bosch Criticized Proposed Gas Boiler Ban
If the proposed gad boiler ban is implemented, it will affect the businesses of companies providing boiler repairs in Sheffield. The plan was devised in an attempt to do something about climate change but Worcester Bosch’s CEO was not impressed with the simplistic plan and rather sent a warning to the committee who developed the plan to ban gas boilers.
This is after reports came out that the Committee on Climate Change is convincing the government to stop the use of gas boilers in newly constructed homes by the year 2025. More or less one fifth of the greenhouse gases of the entire country is due to heating and various energy uses inside the house.
The CEO of Worcester Bosch, Carl Arntzen, was not impressed with the decision though despite the good intention of the committee which is to tackle one of the pressing issues worldwide which is climate change. He believed that the proposal was very simplistic as it only mandates that all new homes will not be connected to the gas grid.
He explained that if the entire nation is to stop using gas altogether, they will need about 30 nuclear power facilities in order to provide power for the whole country to continue living as they are right now. As of the moment, United Kingdom only has eight nuclear power stations.
In the event that hydrogen gas became available, all the new homes that were not connected to the gas grid will not be able to access it. They will be deprived of the benefits brought by using hydrogen gas which is cooking, boiling water and heating without emitting carbon.
Energy and utilities Alliance’s head, Mike Foster, said that UK has to follow through with its part in reducing climate change in the most affordable way possible. He expressed that the Committee on Climate Change made the wrong decision. It will impact the citizens because one unit of gas will only cost 4p while electricity is between 14p and 15p per unit. This will also affect businesses like boiler repairs in Sheffield because they will lose most of their future clients.
