Food Store Temporarily Closed Due To Signs Of Rodent Presence

According to a notice that was filed with Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services, the health department found evidence of rodent presence while conducting regular inspection of the store. Food City was ordered to suspend all its operations immediately.
K-V-A-T Food Stores issued a statement through WYMT apologizing for the temporary inconvenience caused by the temporary closure. The food establishment believes that food safety and cleanliness are very important and they are committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Whitesburg food store got a score of 96 out of a possible 100 points during the December 11, 2019 state health inspection for food service and 98 on the retail store inspection. However, the expansion project at the Whitesburg location that started four weeks ago was challenged by construction issues and weather conditions.
The temporary closure ordered by Lecher health department interrupted the $5 Friday promotion; however, it will be extended until Sunday so that consumers can take advantage of the great savings. Customers are promised a weekend 300 bonus Fuel Bucks.
According to the health department, this is an issue that food stores must avoid particularly since the place is susceptible to pests. The river that runs through the town connects almost all the restaurants.
