New Zealand Considers Escort Service As Skilled Employment
In the website of Immigration NZ (INZ), individuals who are hoping to migrate in the country who have worked as skilled escorts such as female escorts in Sydney can use the valuable points during the application. However, a statement from an expert in immigration, noted that the application is not as easy as it looks for these kinds of workers.
According to the agency, it is true that escort service is considered as a skilled employment and it is included in the list but it is not known because this has not been included in the list of skills that are currently on shortage in the country.
Escort, by definition, is someone who offers services to clients that are related to sex while some offers companionship on a social level alone.
A representative from the agency said that the list was not provided by the INZ but it came from straight from ANZSCO or Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations. The website of INZ categorized escort service as a skilled employment on the 5th level as per the ANZSCO. If the applicants receive a payment of more than $36.44 on an hourly basis or a weekly payment of $75,795, they can claim points.
Aside from these, the agency clarified that the applicant must have other qualifications or have worked a minimum of three years in qualified fields. It was made clear by the New Zealand Association of Migration and Investment or NZAMI that regardless of the fact that it was listed as a skilled employment, claiming the points can be quite a difficult process for those aspiring to apply.
Peter Moses, the spokesman of NZAMI, said that while prostitution is considered to be a lawful job, immigrants are now allowed t get temporary visa if they are planning to be a sex worker in the country. For instance, female escorts in Sydney would need to remain onshore legally without employment or they have to be offshore as they wait for their residency application. It is also best if that have proof that they have been offered a job here in the country to help their case.
